She graduated from cosmetology school in 2017, and her story is a testament to the power of quality education, commitment, and the drive to always keep learning.The Spark: Sophia’s Journey to Finding AvedaSophia’s passion for beauty seems almost predestined. Coming from a family of cosmetologists, she always had the idea in the back of her mind. But, like many, she took a detour. After obtaining a business degree straight out of high school and realizing the corporate world wasn’t her fit, Sophia decided to pursue her true calling.She visited 10 different schools, determined to make the best choice for her career in cosmetology. She opened her salon right after beauty school – a bold move that paid off. Winning three Reader’s Choice awards and working for the National Guard as a barber are just a few highlights of her career. The latter, she notes, was an unexpected but rewarding opportunity.“Aveda’s training prepared me for all these roles,” she says.
