Are you interested in helping others turn their love of cosmetology into a career? At Nathan Layne Institute, you can complete our cosmetology instructor training program to become a licensed educator in Idaho. Learn more about how our instructor training program helps early and mid-career beauty professionals gain the skills they need to train the next generation of cosmetologists.

Instructor Training Program Overview

Nathan Layne Institute offers two options for our instructor training program:

Our 1,000-hour course is for students with less than three years of experience as a licensed cosmetologist.

Prospective students with more than three years of relevant experience may be eligible for our 500-hour course.

In both programs of study, students in the instructor training program will learn:

  • Advanced practice of cosmetology
  • How to oversee current cosmetology students
  • Providing guidance and feedback to students
  • Health and safety protocols

Through a combination of classroom instruction and practical experience, you’ll have the opportunity to build your own cosmetology expertise, as well as gain confidence as a teacher to help your students develop the foundational skills they need to succeed as cosmetologists.
